With their musical style and image managed Guns n 'Roses to retain something of the old hard rock style. At this time it was the major glam rock bands that sold the most records and played most of the radio. Guns n 'Roses made a more traditional rock, which brought forth the new sub-genre of Sleaze rock. They had many fans because of this, and broke through with his debut in 1987. The band's totally different personalities prevented the group's ability to work both on stage and when it came songwriting. The band was so splintered and the original band lineup, there are currently only Axl Rose who is still a member.

Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine lyrics
She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Sweet child o' mine
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Sweet child o' mine
